Weather

There was no major update to the overall design of the weather app, but Apple provided more information.

For a long time, the weather application has always had some small modules to display various information, including 10 day forecast, daily temperature, air quality, precipitation, UV index, sunset/sunrise time, wind, humidity, sensory temperature, visibility and pressure, etc. Now you can click to enter any of these modules to obtain more information, and also support fast switching.

Temperature

The temperature section shows the temperature curve of the whole day, including the maximum and minimum. This should solve a problem in the iOS 15 weather application, so that no users will complain about when the temperature is the lowest point every day. In addition, this section provides a textual overview of weather conditions.

In the 10 day weather forecast, you can click any day to view the daily temperature range chart, and there is an option to view a larger color temperature map.

Air quality

The air quality section shows a chart of the current air conditions in your area, as well as additional information about the current conditions and the impact of major pollutants on health. Precipitation

The new "precipitation" is similar to the precipitation information of the previous version. It shows the location map of the storm to be attacked, and can also zoom in to display the 12 hour rainfall forecast. There is also an interface that shows the details of the total precipitation in the past 24 hours, and how much rain, sleet or snow has fallen at what time.

Sensory temperature

This section provides the second temperature chart. You can better understand the changes of ambient temperature by combining temperature, humidity, wind and other factors.

UV index

As the name implies, the UV index shows the current UV level and the highest UV level during the day. It also provides an introduction, such as the recommended sun protection level.

Sunset and sunrise

"Sunset and sunrise" can let you know the time of sunrise or sunset, and it also includes the average value of monthly sunrise and sunset and the reading of total sunlight.

Wind

This part mainly provides the daily wind speed summary, as well as the wind speed and wind direction chart of the whole day.

Humidity

The humidity section shows a chart of humidity throughout the day in six hour increments. It also provides information such as average humidity and dew point.

Visibility

As the name implies, it can provide full day visibility and daily summary.

Pressure

It shows the current pressure, the whole day pressure, and whether the pressure is rising or falling.

Extreme weather alarm

Weather lock screen

Although it is not part of the weather application, there is a special weather lock screen in iOS 16. If it is sunny, you will see the sun; if it is rainy, you will see rain.

Weather widget

There are also many different weather widgets that you can add to any lock screen, as well as a larger reading and temperature, current conditions, high/low along with individual air quality, UV index, and temperature options.

Of course, using the weather widget requires location services to be turned on.
