MediaTek launches new Helio G100 reskin Helio G99

As a well-known chip manufacturer, MediaTek is currently most famous for its Dimensity series, which is on the same level as Qualcomm's Snapdragon series.However, before the launch of MediaTek Dimensity series, MediaTek Helio series was actually the main product.Among the Helio series, MediaTek Helio G99 is definitely the most classic.Recently, MediaTek launched the new Helio G100, which has a slight improvement compared to the Helio G99 and can be regarded as a reskin of the Helio G99.

Recently, MediaTek launched a new product of the Helio G series processor: MediaTek Helio G100 on its official website.

As the first product in the Helio G series with a number exceeding three digits, the Helio G100 did not bring any surprises to users in terms of performance specifications.

According to the specifications announced by MediaTek on its official website, the Helio G100 uses TSMC's 6nm process, has two 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores, and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores, and integrates the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

For comparison, the specifications of the Helio G99 processor released by MediaTek in 2022 are as follows:

In other words, in terms of core specifications, the new Helio G100 is completely a reskin of the Helio G99. The biggest difference is probably that the Helio G100 adds support for a 200-megapixel main camera.

In addition, Helio G100 introduces Elevator Mode, which allows users to quickly restore cellular network connections when they come out of tunnels or elevators without network coverage, and supports VoLTE and ViLTE dual 4G SIM cards.

In other aspects, Helio G100 supports LPDDR4X memory, UFS 2.2 storage, 4G connection, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2.

MediaTek Helio G99 can be said to be a very classic. Even now it is still the first choice chip for many hundreds of yuan phones. Although the overall performance is not strong, there is still no problem in daily use.The launch of MediaTek Helio G100 provides more choices for 100-yuan phones.
